I've been cleaning off and on all day. I let the apartment get all messy and cluttered in the past several days, and today decided to fix that. I did all the dishes (we've been playing catch-up with the dishes for days), and I scrubbed the counters and stove. Table, you're coming up next! I also put away all the junk all over the living room floor. There were toys, books, shoes, couch cushions, blankets, puzzle pieces, strewn all over. I got it all put away. Of course, two seconds after I got all the books put back on the shelf, Thomas had crawled over and was cheerfully pulling them back down again. I let him keep one to play with, and put the rest back up on the shelf again. I still need to sweep and probably wipe the kitchen floor a bit with a rag (I don't want to use the mop - I swear, that old thing makes our floor dirtier when we use it!), plus take care of the clothes sitting on the floors in the bedrooms and hallway. And maybe run the vacuum over all the carpets. And I eventually need to fit in a shower sometime.
Yeah, I need to stop there. If I list too much to do, I get overwhelmed and don't do any of it!

I should follow your list...I am pretty overwhelmed today myself! While I don't have little kid stuff to put away all over the house, I have SO much to do to get ready for my girls to come this week and narry enough time to do it!
Cleaning is what I NEED to be doing. My house was messy before my family came and stuff just accumulated all week while they were here. Ugh...where to begin???
But, it sounds like you've gotten a lot done. So, way to go!
I think the kids pulling books off is universal. Oren did that in England quite often. Once I was back in the bedroom and he was in the living room and I heard this loud bang sound. I ran out to find the bookshelf overturned and no sign of Oren. I picked up the bookshelf and there he was! The shelves had turned when it fell and were laying flat on him and the books were all over the floor. Needless to say, he was terrified and the shelf was promptly moved into my room!
That's great you got so much done today. The boys rooms have been staying clean (no small feat) and the floors swept (again, no small feat). It's easier to truly relax and enjoy things when the house is in order!
Yeah for so much accomplished! I'm happy for you. I need to follow suit so I can at least leave Aaron with a clean place, even if I come home to a ten-day-old bachelor pad.
Doesn't it feel so good to get your home back in order? I need to work on that today myself.
