I can post now that, as of yesterday, Jeff has been officially offered a position as Immunologist at the reference lab in Salt Lake. His first day will be December 1, so we are planning on moving the weekend before, just after Thanksgiving. We're still working on getting an apartment, but have found one that we think will work out. It will cost more than our current apartment, since it's not subsidized. But we were pretty much counting on that anyway; it will be doable.
Jeff is very very excited about this new job. Immunology has always been his favorite, so he's thrilled that he will get to specialize in that. He's also glad that he gets to work in a big reference lab - he prefers that type of atmosphere over that of a small hospital lab. He has been doing really well at his job here, and gets along well with everyone, but he is excited to move on to do what he's been really wanting to do.
As for me, I'm excited for Jeff, and very proud of him. I'm still nervous and scared about the move, and have a ton of packing and de-junking and cleaning and all-around preparation to do. But this is an exciting thing for us, and I support Jeff and his new position 100%.

THAT'S SO WONDERFUL!!! I can't wait to see your new apartment and see all you have to take advantage of in Salt Lake. There should be a bit of stuff to do there! And you will be close to more relatives too!! Jealous!
Congrats!
What a wonderful opportunity for your family! It was nice getting to know you the little bit that I did!
Congrats!! That's great news!
Wow! Hooray!! That's so awesome that you'll still be pretty close to family. And what a cool job!!!
Congrats!!! Moving is no fun at all. I'm probably moving in the summer and I'm already junking and freecycling tons of stuff just so I don't have to move it :(
HEY! WHERE WAS MY PHONE CALL?!? YOU PROMISED!!!!!
That said, congrats Jeff! That's great that you get to do what you wanted to in the first place. Hope you make it through the last couple weeks at your other job, and enjoy this new oppertunity!
Sniff. Why didn't you call me Steph? My feelings are hurtided...
Hooray! That's so cool. I'm sure you will LOVE Utah. There really is a lot to do and take advantage of. And Aunt Kathy and Karen are there and they are pretty cool.
Good luck with the move. Can't wait to see pics of your new place.
Yeah! I was so excited to read this - More relatives nearby! :) Let me know your address so I'll know where about in Salt Lake you'll be living (it's a big place). I know it can be kind of scary at first, moving to a new place and all, but you guys are going to love Utah! It really is a great state, with so much to offer. I'm so excited for you both!! and that we can have more visitosrs once in a while!!
So cool you are moving to Salt Lake! Have you already got an apartment? I could recommend Tooele...It's cheaper than Salt Lake and we have a bus that goes to Salt Lake everyday!! OK, you can't blame me for trying:) Hope we can get together and have some fun while you're here. Congratulations to Jeff on his new job!!
