As a way of advertising our upcoming performance of Women at the Well, several of the participants were asked to sing during either Sacrament Meeting or Relief Society for all the wards in the stake. I was asked to sing my song as a special musical number for our ward's Sacrament Meeting, and for the Relief Society of the ward that meets after us in our building.
I was pretty nervous - I've sung my song so many times I can't count them, but that was during practice in front of all the other participants, or at home in front of Jeff and the kids. Sunday was my first time actually performing the song for an audience (or congregation...) and therefore I was a mess of nerves! But if you go by the words of Jeff and everyone who came up to tell me I did a good job, and by the number of crying women in the congregation, I think I did a pretty good job! Jeff said he was amazed at how great my singing was, and that I could totally be on American Idol because I have such a good voice ... but I think he's a bit biased. ;-)
Anyway, I'm glad that I had the opportunity to perform my song, not once but twice, before the actual production. Now that I know I can do it even when I'm nervous, I'll be more confident on Saturday and less nervous (hopefully). I'm so excited about the performance on Saturday - but I'll miss practices and hanging out with all the wonderful women I've had the opportunity to meet and get to know. I'm always a little bit sad when a production is over - I've had a wonderful time and I'll definitely miss being a part of it.

My stomach rolls around just before I am about to give a talk or teach a lesson. It takes mighty guts to do what you did! You could do an enrichment activity once a month and sing songs and harmonize or something of that nature. Just like there is book clubs etc, do gospel music club.
I wish I could be there! You do have a good voice, all those duets we used to do were always so much fun! One of these days we'll have to live in the same ward boundries and sing together or something! (Probably won't happen, but fun to wish....) Love you!
Maybe we'll make you sing it at girls night out... LOL
We can do a talent show :)
