Jeff's new guitar!

That's right - we got Jeff a guitar. We went to D.I. today, intending to get some new shirts for me. All of my shirts are either too warm, too big, or both. I didn't end up finding any I liked, but we did find something Jeff liked. He found this guitar for only $5. It's a bit beat-up, and is missing a string, but it was just too good of a deal to pass up. He's really excited about it.

I took the kids on a walk yesterday. We're considering walking to church from now on, at least when the weather cooperates, and I wanted to see how long it takes to get there while pushing the stroller. Anyway, it was a really nice walk, good exercise, refreshing and invigorating. The wind was blowing really cold, so we were all wearing jackets. Maybe that's why it was so refreshing and invigorating. Anyway. I brought the camera, but only ended up taking one picture. Thomas fell asleep and, typical of a little child, did so in a very uncomfortable-looking position. I'm sure that the people who drove past us were giving me some weird looks for letting him just sit like that, but I wasn't going to risk waking him up!

Chicken Dinner!

Jeff put together a great dinner tonight. He used a rub recipe from our George Foreman cookbook to season some chicken and rice. It turned out so flavorful! I love rubs, especially the G.F. ones, because they kick out tons of flavor while adding hardly any calories at all!

Tiny Flowers

These are some of the beautiful little flowers from the tree in my parents' yard. I took these pictures with the micro and daylight settings on my camera, and the camera did all the hard work for me. All I had to do was hold the branch still so it wouldn't blow in the wind.

Shortly after Jeff got home this afternoon, Thomas was a little fussy. Sitting next to Jeff on the couch, I held out my arms and said brightly, "Come here, Thomas!" Thomas grinned and made a beeline - straight to Jeff! Jeff was thrilled.

A Treat from El Salvador

Tonight for dinner we made pupusas, or stuffed tortillas. They make these in El Salvador, and Jeff was introduced to them in New York on his Spanish-speaking mission. I posted the recipe on my food blog, check it out!

Sleepy HeadZaylee didn't take her nap this afternoon. But around 5:30 she wanted to sit on my lap while I was checking blogs. So I sat her down, and after a while I noticed her doing that head-banging thing that people do when they fall asleep sitting up. So I set her on the couch and let her rest. She's still sleeping.
I should probably wake her up and give her dinner, or she won't want to go to bed tonight!

Little Carnivore

This afternoon I happened across Thomas chewing voraciously on our computer chair. What's wrong, Thomas? Don't I feed you enough?
He has broken another tooth on top, with one more on the way. That will make six total. Maybe chewing the chair was soothing. Whether that be the case or not, it was really cute!

Here is the painting I did with the dried-out acrylics. It's not bad, per se, it's just that the colors didn't turn out as rich as they should have. It was really quite a disappointment.

I did Zaylee's hair in pigtails for Conference yesterday, and put a couple clips in to hold her bangs back. She saw that there were more clips in the container, and said ,"Those too!" indicating another color. So I put those in as well. Then she indicated that she wanted another color, and another, and before I knew it, she was wearing all nine clips. It was really cute.
