I would have had a fairly early morning if not for the snow. Thomas had an appointment scheduled this morning to have his heart murmur looked at by a heart specialist. This would have meant driving for about an hour on slick, treacherous roads early in the morning. As it was, it snowed even more last night and made the roads even worse. So we called and canceled. It's better to stay home now and have his heart looked at when the roads are safe, rather than risk going out when, as my mom put it "there are cars going off right and left." So I got to go back to bed.
As an explanation: at Thomas's four month check-up, the doctor thought he might have heard a heart murmur, but couldn't tell because Thomas was squirming and wiggling too much. So the doctor listened again at six months, during which Thomas held still and the doctor could definitely hear a murmur. He says it sounds harmless, but to be on the safe side they set up an appointment for Thomas to see the heart specialist. So we'll go in around the end of February and see what's up. It's probably nothing, but it's good to know for sure.

Keep us posted. I know they can often hear heart murmurs in babies and it probably is nothing, but seeing a doctor is a good idea. Just in case. I hope you can reschedule and see someone on a better weather day!
