Another pie, and other news

When I was at Mom's house today, I described to her the pie I had made, with its creamy custard and glazed peaches. Apparently it sounded so good she wanted me to make another one! So I did. Janelle made a rolled pie crust (I liked that much better than the cookie tart pastry crust from last time), and I did everything else. Mom didn't have any peaches, but she did have a can of fruit cocktail, so I used that instead; I just drained the fruit really well so it wouldn't soak the crust. And it turned out great! Everyone loved it. It lasted all of half an hour after it was done chilling. Mom and I pretty much decided that just about any fruit would be good over that custard, glazed with just about any jam or jelly. Yum! No pictures, though. It looked just like the other one I made, except with different fruit on top.

In other news, my kitchen is still clean. Yay!

And in other other news, Zaylee kept her pants clean and dry ALL day today. I'm very proud of her and how well she is doing. She has decided that she prefers sitting on the big toilet instead of her little potty chair. I think the potty chair was hurting her bottom, because it was getting sores. But they're healing now that she's been sitting on the "big grown up potty" for a couple days. And sitting there makes her feel like a big girl. Now if I can just get her to stop playing in the toilet water when she's done...

The pie sounds really good. I'll have to try it sometime.
It sounds like everything else there is going great too. A big congrats to Jeff for getting the job, you for keeping your kitchen clean, Zaylee for staying dry all day, and Thomas for just being cute.

Way to go Zaylee! What a big girl... That's great you have been able to keep the kitchen clean, I do good for a week or so, and then I will have a crazy schedule day and get thrown all off. I wish I could keep up with the laundry...

You know, they have little seats at Walmart that fit onto the big potty. They are padded and that way the little guys don't fall in. They are pretty cheap, and you just put it on when she goes and take it off when she's done... That might be more comfortable than her trying to balance over the big whole, that was always hard for my skinny rear-ed boys.

Your pie sounds delicious - wish I could make pies easily. I only work on them, maybe at Thanksgiving. That's great that Zaylee is doing so well with the potty training!
