Well, we walked to church today, finally. We've been thinking about it for a while. And today was Ward Walk-to-Church day. The youth in the ward are planning a pioneer trek this summer, so to generate some excitement the whole ward was encouraged to walk to church (those that could). I think that we live about a mile and a half away from the church, and it took us 25 minutes. I can't imaging having to walk all day every day for months on end, like the pioneers did. They had such strong faith to go so far without the modern conveniences that we have. I do think that our walk is doable enough that we'll probably walk to church every week. It'll save on gas, and it's a good workout.
I spent the last two hours of church in the nursery. I really enjoy helping out in there when it's needed. The nursery leader is really nice. We both have two little kids, about the same ages. She has a little girl in nursery, and a little baby girl a few months younger than Thomas. We found out today that we live really close to each other, and will probably get together for play dates sometime. She and her husband walked home with us after church, since we were going the same way, and I got to chat with her the whole time. It was so nice to have a girl-talk conversation - I don't get that often. I think I'm making a friend. This is really great for me, because in all the time I've lived here, I haven't really made any friends. I have acquaintances at church, but it's never developed anywhere past occasional small talk conversations. I just don't make friends very easily or quickly - a side effect of my extreme shyness I suppose.
As a side note - Zaylee was so cute in her new crocheted dress, and I got a couple compliments on it. Yay!

Good for you for both the walk and the new friend:) I love Zaylee's little sundress, how talented you are! She looks very cute in it too!!
That's great! Everybody needs at least one good friend. Someone to talk to when you are bored, or listen to you when you are having a hard day. Someone with kids that entertain yours... :-) Follow through on that playdate idea. I know it's tough, but someone has to make that first call and set it up. It's good practice being not shy! :-)
Of course Zaylee looked cute in her dress. She's adorable! And you are talented! Silly thing you.
That is a great idea to have people walk to church who are close enough to do so. We walk because there is no other way. It is nice to walk because we have time to talk about things and we usually have to leave in enough time that we are not in a hurry or are late. Way to go for you.
That's awesome that they had a walk to church day. That's great that you're close enough to walk.
That's great that you were able to make a friend. I struggle with the same thing because I am shy also. It's rough...but totally worth it to have friends, both for you and your kids.
How nice! It is tough to meet new friends...or at least feel like you have moved on beyond aquaintance. I struggle with that TONS here.
Proud of ya for breaking out of your shell!
