Thank you Grandma Jean!

This post is a great big thank you to Jeff's mom, Jean, for the lovely gifts she gave to Zaylee. Zaylee opened the first gifts on her birthday - this sweet little dress and sweater (and Care Bears card, which she loves!):

I set aside one of the gifts for Zaylee to open at her party, but silly mommy-brain made me forget it at home. Zaylee opened it this morning, and has been playing with the beautiful crocheted purse, yellow flower bag, and lovely rose tissues every since!

Thank you, Grandma Jean, for the wonderful gifts!

Kiddie Quotes

This morning Zaylee came up to me carrying my purse and said, "Mommy, here's your person!"
I had just washed my hair and blown it dry. It was very, um, full of body. Zaylee looked at it and said smilingly, "You're a lion!"
We were headed to the car, and Zaylee was about to run out into the parking lot. I grabbed her dress to stop her. When I let go, she said indignantly, "Hey, what's the big idea?" I didn't even know she knew that phrase!
I was driving with Zaylee in the car yesterday and we were both being quiet. To make some conversation, I asked, "How you doin' Zaylee?" She sighed and said, "Yeah, she is so pretty." I have no idea who she was talking about.
I was putting on the movie Princess Diaries, and I told Zaylee, "This is a movie about a princess." She repeated, "This is a movie. I'm a princess."
I had the vacuum out this morning after using it last night. Zaylee found great entertainment in pulling on the hose and watching it snap back into place. As I unplugged it and started putting it away, she said such things as: "You wanna pull on macuum, Mommy?" "Bye bye, macuum, have a good nap!" and, as I was putting it away in its closet, "I love you, macuum!" while making a kissing noise. How funny!
Zaylee mimics just about everything we say, though often makes mistakes in pronunciation. Today I offered her a cracker, saying, "Here, have a soda cracker." She took it and said, "Yeah, a super cracker!"
Jeff and Zaylee were playing on the floor. Wanting him to get up, she said emphatically, "Daddy, stand BOP!"
This morning Zaylee came into the kitchen where I was making breakfast. She was blowing very energetically in and out through her nose. I asked what she was doing, to which she replied, "I'm glowing!"
