Healing Well

Thomas had his follow-up appointment with the orthopedic surgeon this morning. Basically, the doctor reviewed the X-ray taken on Monday, asked a bit about what happened and how Thomas was acting when we took him in to the ER, and felt Thomas' leg a bit. He said he thinks Thomas cracked the bone, but that he is healing very well. The bone is probably halfway healed by now, and he said it's okay to leave the splint off and just let Thomas stand and walk as he feels comfortable. It will take him a while to get used to not having the splint - Thomas was doing really well with his little crooked crawl - but he will be able to gradually start putting some weight on it. Since the break is stable, this won't mess anything up - the bones will stay put and keep healing.

Anyway, that's probably a lot of mumbo jumbo - basic gist is that he's healing fine, and doesn't need the splint anymore. Hooray!

I bet he will be SO happy! Cute, crawling and getting into everything again. :) Wait, maybe the splint is better left on. :) jk!

I'm so glad Thomas is doing better. It's amazing how quickly they can heal and what all they can adapt to.

Isn't it funny how fast little ones can heal? The Lord knew what he was doing, that's for sure! That's great he gets to walk normal now, and that it won't hurt the leg.

I guess both our boys are grounded from the trampoline for a good long while huh?

So glad Thomas is doing better. It sure tugs att the "Mommy heatstrings" when our little ones are hurt.

So glad to hear that Thomas's leg is going to be okay and that he's healing well, because that means you're doing better too!
