You know what is absolutely no fun at all? Well, lots of things, but the one I'm thinking of starts with "pink" and ends with "eye" and makes your eyes pink. Go ahead, take a guess - that's right! Conjunctivitis, also known as "pink eye." Zaylee somehow contracted this horrible infection and started showing symptoms on Wednesday, had it for a couple days, and spread it to me. I think I got it when I let her poke me in the eye repeatedly. What was I thinking?
So I got it in my right eye yesterday, and now it's spread to my left eye. My eyes are goopy, and crusty, and swollen, and irritable, and watery, and irritated, and scratchy, and pink! I'm not supposed to wear my contacts so I have to wear the glasses that I wore in high school, the ones that were already old six years ago when I first got contacts. The ones that have a falling-apart frame and lenses on which the coating is cracked in about a billion places. And the prescription expired years ago - so I can barely see anything. And they make my face look fat and nerdy. And I had to wear them to church and it messed up my piano playing in Primary because I couldn't properly see the notes, the keys, or my hands. And I felt ugly.
On top of all this, I can't sleep at night, my joints ache, and I think I have a cold. My throat hurts, my nose is runny, my head feels like it's going to explode, and I've got aches in my fingers, elbows, back, hips, and knees. Gosh, I sound like an old woman! A cranky old woman who is really tired and sore and just want to get better. Or die.

ya know, being negative isn't going to help the situation! Atleast you had something you could see out off! even if it was a pair of 6 yr old glasses. heck, i stoped wearing contacts after a piece of dog hair got under the lenses and cut my eye. Next time u go to the optom, get a back up pair of glasses, lenscraft has discounts! I got a designer brand plus same day lenses and frames for 1/2 off, even though it was already on clearance!
pink eye sucks, I have never had it but it sure sounds sucky. I bet you can find home made remedies to help you out. You are really good at looking up new things and stuff, or ask your mom, atleast you still have her. So there are many things you can be positive about! (you get to move to Utah, I wish I could be moving there too! maybe in acouple years.)
I hate, hate, hate pink eye! Did I mention I HATE pink eye. We've had it so many times at our house and when one person gets it we all get it. No fun!
I'd be whining and complaining if I were you too!
I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope you feel better soon. Nothing more poopy then not feeling yourself...trust me! I know! :)
Sorry to Jackie's comment up there, but Steph, it's okay to vent. It's okay to think it's a stinky situation because quite honestly, it is...whether optimism is right around the corner or not.
You'll see that part when you are ready.
I am sorry you felt this way today. Makes life rough...I am thinking of you!
Hey, America's Best in Boise does a special where you get 2 pairs of "designer overstocks" for $70, plus a free eye exam. That's 2 frames and the lenses to go in them. That's the deal they have advertised on their website. twopair.com There is also a number to call to double check if they are still running the deal. I know you are moving in a couple weeks, so I don't know if you could get in to an optometrist by then, or if you even want to mess with it right now, but it's always good to have a pair of glasses that work and that you like!
There's one on Franklin, by the mall. The shopping strip on the right side of the road if you take the Franklin exit off 84 and turn left onto Franklin.
Hope you get feeling better, pinkeye is no fun at all! I hate when my face feels fat too, it's hard to feel good about yourself when the first thing people see is bad glasses! :-)
its hard to express things through typing. unless you put smiley faces after every sentence.;) it wasnt suppose to be coming out like i am being mean or anthing.
everybody has their own experiences, and i am just saying you dont got it bad. it might seem that way sometimes.
for example, a friend of mine's neighbor is going through a divorce, she caught him cheating and a bunch of stuff happened that landed her into prison for a night. my friend was pushed in the middle of it almost and made her realize what shes got. she doesnt have to work, she stays home with her kids, they have no debt, they have the gospel. etc..
so really, my comment wasnt to be rude or nothing, it was written wrong i guess, so add smiley faces to all the sentances LOL i dunno.
Yeah, I didn't take it as being mean. It really did help me to remember that things aren't always as bad as they seem at the time. I was having a rough day, but I know that many people have worse. Thanks everyone for helping me feel better! :-)
Ugh! And why does the MOM always get it, too? Isn't it bad enough that we have to put up with the whining and ickiness from the kiddos?
