I keep wanting to get on and post something, but every time I think I'll try, I can't think of anything to post about! Life has been fairly boring around here lately. The kids and I get up, eat breakfast, hang out all morning, eat lunch, Thomas takes a nap while Zaylee and I hang out more, Thomas wakes up, Jeff gets home, we eat dinner, the kids go to bed, we hang out some more, and then go to bed and that's the end of the day. Not much to blog about. But it always kind of bugs me to leave an unpleasant post at the very top for long. I don't like being reminded of that lovely middle-of-the-night bout of neighborly illness every time I log on.

So, here I am, blogging about nothing. Let me see if I can think of something to write....

My hand smells like cheese. We had homemade pizza for dinner and now my hand smells like cheese. While I was pressing out the dough for the crust, Zaylee said, "Oh, you're making pizza!" It warmed my heart to know that we make our own pizza often enough for Zaylee to be able to recognize when I'm doing it.

She also recognizes when I'm making cookies.

Hmm. What else can I blog about? There are dishes piled up in the sink. You know, I'm not entirely convinced that we do dishes more often now that we have a dishwasher than we did before. It's still an inconvenience - the dishwasher is weak so all the dishes have to be rinsed well before being put in. And when the door to the washer is open, I have to stand around it and lean uncomfortably to the side in order to rinse the dishes in the sink. So I put forth about the same amount of effort and experience more physical discomfort using the dishwasher than I did washing by hand. So why do I keep using the dishwasher? Because it's there. We have it, so I have to use it. Silly, I know, but there you have it.

And there you have my completely pointless post that I wrote simply because I had nothing better to do (well, nothing except doing the dishes. But I already explained why I don't want to do that).

It's better to have nothing to post about than have something bad to post about, right? :)

Amen. Except I'm the one taking the naps!

Yeah! I have dishes in MY sink, too! (And a dishwasher that works in a kitchen I don't have to be a contortionist in, so I'm being worse than you.) I want to make some homemade pizza, but I never have anything to put on it when I think to make it. But Evie DOES like to be involved in making cookies...and helping taste test them...and figuring out which of my three cookie jars I've hidden them in. Glad things are going well!

We never really have anything to put on our pizza either. I usually puree a can of tomatoes for the sauce, then cheese, then put on whatever I have. Sometimes it's onions and ground beef. Sometimes we use barbecue sauce and chicken. Last night it was salsa and kidney beans. We usually get pretty creative. :-)

January in Utah in a small apartment is a challenge. Hhmmm.....You could come down and visit me!!! I ALWAYS have stuff going on, way more than I'd like! :) And Emily would love getting to know Zaylee and Thomas. Seriously, Dave is going to be out of town for 3 weeks, so you guys should come down for dinner and games on a weekend. Homemade pizza is fun - I used to make homemade pizza every Friday night. Don't know how I got out of the habit, but but everyone loves it when we do make it.

Just wanted to post about the savings and the home purchase...
Contact the extention service about "Individual Development Account Financial Classes" If you are income eligible it is a great way to save money. For every dollar you save, IDA will match $3.00(up to $1500) The money must be spent to purchase a home, pay college tuition or start a small business. Definitly worth checking into!

Thanks for the ideas Steph! They were great and I mean that. I like the pink cake idea. And the balloons!

Hi girl! I understand about the dishwasher. Mine is a pain, too. By the time I rinse all the dishes good enough for the washer, I may as well have washed them by hand. I use mine about half the time.

I think you have some really good ideas for saving money. We are trying to save for a vacation fund. :) Plus, it would be nice for my kids to learn the value of a dollar. I don't think they have a good grasp of that quite yet.

Have a good week!
Love, Cissa

I agree, sometimes life is like "Groundhog Day" when nothing changes. You just gotta shake the boat a little, do something daring and different. Like teaching Thomas how to throw a snowball...and building snowmen on the sidewalk. Kids are very creative, they just need a stimulating environment :D
