Our entire afternoon has been dedicated to the purchase of this big, shiny, new toy. We looked up places and prices online (we've actually been looking casually for quite a while), then headed over to the Ken Garff in West Valley after lunch. We wandered around the show room for a while, waiting for our sales rep Rhett, then it was off to look at vans! We test drove two separate vans, one a silver Kia Sedona, and the other a silver/blue Dodge Grand Caravan. The Sedona was fun, it had lots of little nooks, crannies, and cubbies in the front, and handled well. But we ended up preferring the Grand Caravan, with its bench seats and plentiful trunk space.
So we went to the little office space, armed with little water bottles and a package of crackers to occupy the kids (thanks Rhett for the snacks), and signed a bunch of papers. The kids took the opportunity to wander around and climb all over the 4-wheelers on display in that area of the building. Wish I had brought the camera - it was so cute! Then we went back to the show room and waited for a nice long time, while Rhett and the accounting person took care of a bunch of stuff. He provided us with cold water and lukewarm pizza (again, thanks!) while we waited. Then finally we went in another office and signed a whole bunch of other papers. Then waited a bit longer, took Zaylee to the bathroom, an elderly gentleman gave the kids some nice big helium balloons, and the van was ready and we were off!
The kids really love balloons! I think that for them, the balloons made the whole trip worthwhile, and they haven't let them out of their sight since. :-)
All in all, I feel like it's been a productive, enjoyable afternoon.

Awesome! It's kinda fun to drive a minivan, huh? Aaron took some winning over, but now he's really glad we got ours. Enjoy your new addition!
how exciting! is it brand spankin new? or used?... mark and i bought our cruiser new, biggest mistake we ever made. we added 6 grand in warranties that doesnt even cover the parts that have broken already! learned our lesson, never buy the extra warranties!!
It's used, 2002, less than 9000 miles and very well maintained. It doesn't look or run anywhere near as old as it is. We're excited about it!
Congrats! We have somewhat matching vans now, ours is a silvery/grayish/blue too. How funny! Boy, are you going to love the extra room! We bought our van when we just had 2 kids, Mark thought we were crazy, but I got pregnant 2 months later. Whose laughing now? That's really good mileage too, awesome! Road trips will never be the same... :-)
Welcome to the club! I joined a little over a month a go! I love my van! I know you will love your too!!!
Congratulations on the new van!! It's so shiny :-) And even bigger congratulations on your new addition to the family. When is the addition taking place? ;-) Such exciting news! I'm a bit envious of your van. I would like to get a mini van, but JT is so opposed that I don't see it ever happening. Hopefully we'll be able to cram as many carseats as we need to in our Stratus.
I just noticed your prego-ticker, LOL. Congrats again!!!! :-D
nice deal!
HOORAY! So exciting! We have twinner vans, because ours looks just like that! :)
You will love having a van!!!
You've joined the van club! I hope you love it. We love ours and I really can't imagine driving anything else now. I've been too spoiled with all the extra room.
Getting a "new" car is always fun. You're really going to enjoy it.
