There are two fire engines parked outside our apartment, and fully-geared fire fighters keep going in and out of the building, with hoses and axes and all the trimmings. I'm really not sure what's going on, but assume that if there were something dangerously wrong they would go through all the apartments and get everyone out...
...Okay, as I've been typing it looks like they're packing up now. Wonder what that was all about? I dunno, maybe there was a cooking fire or something. Gosh, this whole thing has me a bit weirded out.

They're gone now. I still have no idea what that was about, but am glad that it was apparently nothing serious. Wow.
My thought was poor guys all suited up in such hot weather! Glad it wasn't serious and called for an evacuation of the entire building. We had to evacuate because of a busted gas pipe 2 blocks away once.... no fun! I guess something interesting to tell Jeff about your afternoon? :-)
I'm very glad that nothing serious was going on and that everyone's okay. Wow, how exciting, even if it's not exciting in a good way.
