Our Relief Society has started a monthly enrichment group that suits me perfectly - recipes! Each month a different food type will be featured, and everyone brings one to three recipes to share. This month (tonight) we did breads. I brought the recipe for Southern Hoe Cake and Yeastless Focaccia. Some people chose to bring samples of their breads, and there was a demonstration of how to make two special bread recipes - cream-filled rolls and cranberry-orange scones. Those cream-filled rolls were so spectacular! Sweet roll dough filled with a cream cheese filling, rolled up really cute, baked, and topped with boysenberry jam and frosting - oh heaven! The idea is that eventually we will have enough recipes for a ward Relief Society cookbook. Sister Kener will compile all the recipes gathered and give out each section as it is completed. I'm really looking forward to getting all the bread recipes, so I can make and post them (especially those cream-filled rolls - I can't get over how good they were!) on my food blog.
I'm looking forward to next month's recipe enrichment activity - Candies! I think I'll bring the recipe for Jeff's Honey Roasted Peanut Brittle. That was some good stuff. We also have a favorite toffee recipe that we like to make. I can't believe I haven't posted that one on my food blog yet, seeing how often we actually make it.
Sorry, I didn't mean for this post to turn into a Link To My Food Blog fest. I'm just excited because I had a good time tonight; I love the idea of sharing recipes among all the Relief Society sisters.

Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog! We SITStas gotta stick together.
That sounds like an enrichment class I would make time to go to! I LOVE breads. Yummy!
What a great idea!!! Mabe I can pass it along here...
That's so cool!! Until I saw your 'enrichment night' thing, I had totally forgotten that LAST night was mine...It would have been nice to get out and relax, but oh well. Glad you got to enjoy yours!
Hey--you've been on blogging break for a couple days?? :) This is so unlike you!
What I meant was, are you okay??
Yeah, I'm okay - I've just been tired lately. I've been focusing a lot more on my food blog, because posting recipes is so much fun. I'll try to be better about posting here too! :-)
My last ward did the monthly recipe thing. I miss it lots.
