Messy Mess

My apartment is a pigsty. We've been rather lax on housekeeping, and have let clutter build up in the living room and bedrooms, and dishes build up in the sink and on the counters and on the stove and on the table, and foodstuff build up on the dining room floor (especially around Thomas' highchair). There are toys all over the floor of the living room, dining room, and kitchen. And there's clutter built up on the computer desk, so that there's really no place to set anything down. I think tomorrow we really need to spend the day getting the apartment looking nice again. Time to do some heavy-duty cleaning and get this pigsty picked up and taken care of. It's just so much easier to feel good and calm and happy when one's home is clean and well-organized. And no, I won't post "before" and "after" pictures. The "before" is simply too horrific to post on this otherwise clean website.

Welcome to my house. Somewhat because I am not the best housekeeper, partly due to several doctors appointments where Mark was at home in charge of children this week, and a little bit because my kids are...well... my kids! And I can't even tackle it today because chicken is on sale at Pauls, flowers at D&B (need perenials), and Mark has a cemetery ceremony thingy. Whew! Good luck with the housecleaning. When you're done, can you come do mine? :-)

Hey girl! I feel your pain!!! No matter what I do, I never seem to get caught up! As long as I get it "somewhat" straightened, I usually feel better! :) I have noticed, tho, that the messes seem to bother me more "at that time of the month!" I am curious if anyone else gets like that? Let me know! :)) Hang in there. Everything always seems to find a way to get done (how, I don't know yet, but it does seem to get done eventually). :)) And, you are right, it does feel much better when our homes are in good shape! Be thinking of me - we are on a big painting spree!!! Such a pain to paint, but oh, so nice when it is done!!!! :))
Take care, girl!!!!

I definitely have my days when I just want to throw away everything in sight just because I'm tired of finding "it" out where it doesn't belong and having to put it away! I think some members of my household would be more than a little upset with me if I did that, though :) Good luck with your cleaning!

Take comfort in the fact that you're not alone. Your description would be my entire basement, my family room, and my bedroom for sure! I totally understand about the dishes thing - I just started being able to use our dishwasher again. Those dishes can really pile up fast!
