I'm getting a little frustrated with Zaylee's proclivity towards pooping in her pants with no warning, and sometimes not letting us know about it afterward. Yesterday when she soiled her pants I thought I'd try the thing where you just leave the poopy pants on, so she'd realize how uncomfortable it is and start pooping in the potty. When I found her, she was in the bathroom putting the poop in the toilet. With her hand. She had pulled her pants down, grabbed the poop, and then pulled her pants back up. Yeah, I had fun cleaning that mess up.
Today we realized she was poopy when, as I walked past the kitchen, I smelled that all-too-familiar and none-too-pleasant bowel movement smell. When I walked into the kitchen, she had her pants down and they were full of poop. Luckily she hadn't gone so far as to get poop on anything besides her clothes. I quickly volunteered to clean Zaylee if Jeff would clean the undies. We both feel we got the worse end of the deal.
Except for the pooping though, Zaylee is doing really well with potty training. She rarely has a pee accident, and will frequently tell us she needs to go, or just run into the bathroom and go by herself. At the very least, she's willing to sit on the potty when we tell her to, if it's been a little while and we think she probably needs to go.
I just wish she'd do a bit better about telling us she needs to poop, so we could encourage her to use the potty. Sigh.

Don't worry, we are going through the exact same thing with Nathan, and have for the last 6 months. It is not any funner when they are almost 4. The bowel end of things is a little harder for kids to get the hang of. If she has a predictable time, like afternoons, that can make it a little easier. Or a telltale sign, like sitting or standing or squating in a certain corner or room. If not, you just have to cross your fingers and hope to get lucky when she is already sitting on the potty. Then you can point out what she did. That's what happened with Oren. Good luck!
I've never potty trained a child (yet) and I'm really not looking forward to it, but for now I just think that you have to remind yourself that they WILL get the hang of it sometime. There will be an end so hang in there!
Oooh, good luck with all that. I hate cleaning up poopy messes! But hooray on her progress so far!!
I don't remember exactly how old Zalee is, but I think you've made great progress so far. Emily was about 4 years old before she was trained! (which was really hard for me because all my others were trained at 2 years, 9 months.) She still has very infrequent pee accidents if she plays to long - had one just the other day. One other tidbit of advice - stay cool, calm, and collected. It's much more helpful for everyone that way - took me a long time to catch on to that hint, since I'm a slow learner. Hang in there!
