Been a Good Day

Today was relaxed and laid back until this afternoon and evening. Well, it was still relaxed, but more fun than the rest of the day. Michelle and Mark and the boys were over in this neck of the woods for their fun weekend away. We all met up and Mom and Dad's house and hung out together for a while.

Then Jeff and I left the kids there and went to a party in honor of the graduating students in his class. It was held at the home of one of the teachers. Her husband is an incredible cook. We had fancy Italian appetizers - olives; prawns with lemon and oregano, and a cocktail sauce; artesian-style bread; polenta with sun-dried tomatoes and pine nuts; marinated mozzarella with cherry tomatoes. Then came the pasta buffet - bow tie pasta with choice of Alfredo sauce, marinara sauce, basil pesto, and freshly grated Parmesan. And lastly there was dessert - lemon curd tart, chocolate hazelnut torte, and s'more brownies. It was all soooo delicious, and I ate waaaay too much!

After dinner we went back to Mom and Dad's to pick up the kids. Zaylee was wearing one of Rheanna's shirts, so I asked about that. Turns out she had gotten into Marie's Vaseline - oh no, not again! Luckily, it only got on her shirt and a little on Marie's quilt. Michelle was very awesome and cleaned up Zaylee's shirt for me. Thank you so much, Michelle!

While I'm talking about being thankful to Michelle, here's a few other reasons: she brought us her old double stroller. Now I can take walks with the kids without having to push Thomas in the stroller with one hand and have Zaylee pulling away from me with the other hand. I've avoided going on walks during the day while Jeff's gone for just that reason, but now I don't have to worry about that! She also brought an adorable sweater for Thomas to wear this fall/winter when it's cold and he's grown into it. And she gave me some of her old dishes that are still pretty nice. I love my big sister!

It was nice to be able to hang out and spend time with the family. But now it's late and I'm really tired. Good night!

Have you SERIOUSLY been living without a double stroller this whole time? I can't even believe that--WOW!

Glad you had an all around good day and that you got to see your family and hang out for a while! :)

I still can't believe you didn't have a double stroller....

Double strollers cost double the money.... I love you too sister of mine! Thanks for getting some of that stuff out of my house. Mark has been talking yardsale, and if you hadn't taken that big huge stroller off my hands he would have tried selling it! I am glad you guys had so much fun at the party, and I hope I got all the vaseline out of her shirt, it's a cute one!
