Perfect Day for Going to the Park

This morning the weather was gorgeous, so we went to a park that we recently discovered close to our apartment. We took the car today, but on realizing it's only a mile away, decided that next time we'll just put the kids in the stroller and walk. Zaylee definitely enjoyed being outside and playing on the equipment. She loved the biggest slide, and went down over and over again! But the picture I got of her on that one didn't turn out too great, so here's one of her on a different slide:

They had some playground equipment that looked like cars of a train, and Zaylee enjoyed climbing in and out of the cars. They had little windows, and she liked to peek out at me through the window. Look at those blue eyes!

Thomas got to sit in a swing for the first time, and really had a blast being pushed gently back and forth! He looked so cute in the little kiddie swing, with his legs just hanging there!

Isn't he a cutie!!

The only thing I wasn't too thrilled about with our outing was the fact that I had just showered, but didn't have time to do anything with my hair. It was drying all frizzy and crazy, and really looked terrible! This wouldn't have mattered to me so much if other parents hadn't started showing up with their kids shortly after we got to the park. I felt really silly, but tried to just focus on having a good time with the kids, instead of wondering what the other parents were thinking about the crazy mop-haired momma running around. :)

I love getting to the park!! We just found one a little over a mile away...when I work up to it it'll be a great walk-to-while-I-lose-weight park. Looks like the kids enjoyed it!

I am really lucky that there is a little parkette two doors down from me, and a nicer sized one at the end of our street. I love to see my kids having a good time, although I am terrified they will fall off the huge twisty slide! Glad you guys had a good day and got out for a while. Thanks for calling, sorry I talked your ear off again. I was in an odd mood all day, got all hyper at Relief Society. No more caffeine for me!

Oh Steph! Trust me, many a mom have seen me in my finest form--filthy shirts, no makeup, nasty looking hair...

I totally get ya on this one!
