Just a Blah Kind of Day

There hasn't been anything particularly interesting or exciting happen today. Jeff did a lot of cleaning, which is nice. He did dishes, and cleaned up in the living room (all the stuff I did while he was gone, that somehow got undone since then). I made some no-bake cookies this afternoon, but I'm actually not going to post the recipe, because they didn't work out well. They chose not to set up. This was a new recipe for me; it looked interesting because it called for pudding mix. But they stayed kind of goopy, even in the freezer, so even though they tasted good I'll go back to making my preferred recipe. Next time I make the good kind, I'll post that one.We also made pizza tonight, and it turned out good. Jeff made double the amount of dough we usually do because he was hungry at the time. We ended up doing a big pizza on the pizza stone, and bread sticks on our metal pizza pan. We only ate 2 of the bread sticks, out of 16, because we were so full from the pizza (of which we still have 3 pieces). Well, it can be good to have leftovers, especially of pizza and bread sticks. The sauce Jeff made was really good. We had a little bit of bottled spaghetti sauce in the fridge. It wasn't enough to cover the whole pizza, so Jeff mixed in a bit of barbecue sauce. The result was very flavorful, and went great with the pepperoni and smoked pepper Canadian bacon. That's about all I can think to post today. Maybe tomorrow will be more interesting.

Aww! The pizza and the cookies both look GOOD!!!! :) I have a hard time stopping what I'm doing (like cleaning, etc) to make fun things (it's always last on my list). You are inspiring me to stop and make that time by moving it up higher on my list! The other things can wait and, in the meantime, the kids will LOVE it!!!! :)

MMMMM! That pizza looks good! Don't you just love homemade crust? I made breadsticks with the recipe on my blog the other day. I shaped the breadsticks in one big flat shape, let rise until doubled, then spread with garlic butter and parmesan and mozzerella cheese. Voila! They tasted like Domino's cheezy bread. Canadian bacon is my favorite! And now you've got me in the mood for emergency cookies!

Your pizza looks great, and Steve was kind of in the mood for pizza yesterday. Maybe we should do some home-made in the menu soon, so that we don't order out! And it's so good to hear that Jeff is home safely. I never like it when Steve has to be gone, but there have certainly been various times in our marriage when it was necessary. Neither of us sleeps very well, but his lack of sleep is due more to either sharing a hotel room with another guy or just that he's having to camp somewhere...

Glad to hear Jeff's back. It wasn't so bad, now, was it?

Love the pizza thing. Don't you just love (or hate, depending) it when you substitute something and end up not being able to repeat whatever you just did?

Pizza looks GREAT! We ordered out last night, Greek. It's because I sewed all day and didn't want to cook:)
