Today I was a bit stressed, because the kids were acting up, Zaylee kept trying to beat up Thomas (she's been getting more and more aggressive with him lately), and I was really tired. And Jeff came home and said he's going to be extremely busy the rest of this week. It's the week before the week before finals, and he's got lots of assignments and studying to do, plus staying at school for longer periods of time to make up the labs he missed while he was sick. So I was expecting that I wouldn't get a break or any kind of rest all week. That was a stressful revelation.
But Jeff noticed I was a little down, and I had a headache, so he offered to take care of the kids (read: put on a movie for the kids) while I took a nap. I leaped at the chance and took a short nap. Jeff put together a yummy split pea soup for dinner, and by the time dinner was over I was feeling much better. It means so much to me that Jeff will take time away from studying to help with the kids and dinner and stuff like that, so I can take a nap and feel better. Of course, it's good for him too because if he studies nonstop, he burns out. Frequent short breaks are a must.
So my evening has been much better. I made a great pie for dessert because I have eaten only a little bit today and I needed a way to up my calories. I'm sure there are healthier ways to get in my needed calories, especially since I'm still nursing Thomas, but sometimes you've just gotta splurge!
And since the only pictures I've taken for two days have been food pictures for my food blog, and I haven't posted any family-type pictures here lately, here's a couple cute pictures of the kids crawling around under the table. Around here that's a popular hangout spot for the young folks.

You HAVE been busy! Yum to that pie for sure!! And I have been wanting a split pea recipe. So thanks!!
I love it when dads offer to help! Yeah to Jeff for getting dinner on to boot. And I love the pie idea!
That's so nice of him to do dinner! And the soup looks yummy... When Jeff has a good job with insurance, you should see a doc about all those headaches. There's migraine meds out there that are wonderful, several of my friends have been on them. Until then, yay for helping husbands and yummy pie!
Your pics are adorable!!! :) What sweeties! I hope your head is feeling better. I suffer from migraines so I know how it feels. I have prescribed medicine for when they get bad, but Advil helps also. Oh, I left you a message on your food blog! :) I am getting brave and more excited about cooking! :))
