It's been increasingly difficult to get on and write a post in the evenings. Jeff has had a really busy week as far as schoolwork. He has been on the computer studying and doing assignments every evening this week. I have to either blog late at night or not at all!
Yesterday not much happened here. I didn't get much housework done until late in the evening, after the kids were in bed. Thomas has been pretty high maintenance lately. I realized last night as I was playing with him that he's broken another tooth on the bottom and is working on breaking the one on the other side. I didn't even know that was coming, but that would explain his recent fussiness! So he should be back to normal soon, after he gets this next tooth in. That will make 8 teeth total - four on top, four on bottom. He's growing so fast!
Jeff and I have been letting the dishes build up the past several days. It's not that we don't do them on purpose, just that neither of us wanted to do them, and they didn't get done. We'd do a load here and there, but they've been getting out of hand. So last night we buckled down and did them together. I washed and rinsed, he dried and put away. We were like a well-oiled machine - fighting dirty dishes and the messy kitchen with a unity and oneness scarcely found in a dish washing team! It was a night to remember!
Okay, sorry, that was weird. But it was nice to work together. We had a great conversation about Jeff's work, some case studies he was looking at. I don't always understand everything he talks about in relation to his schoolwork, but it's neat to hear it anyway, and Jeff really does know what he's talking about. He'll be good at clinical science, and he loves it.
Anyway, there's some banana-nut pancakes in the kitchen, calling my name (Jeff took over breakfast duty for the day), so I'm off!

Banana nut pancakes sound good...we had Calista's pumpkin bread with cream cheese...Yum:) I hate it when the dishes pile up. Thank goodness we have a dishwasher now, we have been through times we did not...yuk:) I thought your well oiled machine was cute.
The pancakes sound so good. We had pancakes today also, but they were just the plain old kind.
I totally hear you on the dishes. This is the first time we've had a dishwasher since we got married and I will NEVER live anywhere that doesn't have one again. What a luxury!
When we lived in California for 4 1/2 years, we didn't have a dishwasher either. It could take a really long time getting them done if I let them pile up, but I remember lots of times when Steve and I would roll up our sleeves and work on them together. We would trade off on who had to wash, and who had to dry and put away. Now, I unload the dishwasher 99% of the time (if I get help with that, it's from the kids), Steve prefers to reload the dishwasher, and then I'll do whatever handwashing is left. But that still doesn't mean we don't regularly fall behind :)
